McKinney refused to accept the "they hate our freedom"

In the wake of the 9/11 attacks, Cynthia McKinney refused to accept the "they hate our freedom" explanation and instead asked questions about what the Bush Administration knew and when they knew it, why they ignored so many warnings, and why they were attempting to stifle a congressional investigation into 9/11. As a result, the White House and its mouthpieces in the mainstream media branded her a "nut" and a "conspiracy theorist".

On 8 December 2006 McKinney introduced a bill for the impeachment of Bush, Cheney and Rice.
